Is it possible to cancel DishTV online? If not what is the least painful route to take? I don't want any sales pitch to stay. $150+ for my wife to watch 4 or 5 channels isn't worth it; No we can't get those channels on a lower tier but I can get them for a LOT less streaming. I wish our social security went up as fast as the DISH bill!

My contract ran out about 15 years ago.

Thanks.

My cancellation on the phone took 13 minutes.

Yes, they need to check a few things and will put you on a short hold. My CSR returned and made a very attractive offer, and asked what we watched (to ensure she offered an appropriate package).

But the offer was still twice what I pay MyEntertainment, which offers all we want. And was for one year. Probably with a two year commitment.

I returned the H3 and the remote that came with it. And the remote antenna. They sent the box (a bit worse for the wear). Easy packing. UPS had me out the door in 2 minutes.

As I am 72 and the LNB is at the peak of my roof, so she released me from returning it.

When my roof gets replaced "Real Soon Now" I'll have them take down permanently the Dish dish and the OTA antenna (indoor antenna works fine, and we no longer watch OTA anyway).

Close to 25 years. Stings. Miss the H3. However, 💰💰💰💰💰💰

It took me 14 minutes but I think I'm cancelled :-). As a last ditch effort to keep me I was told that I would start getting a monthly bill based on hourly usege for using an antenna LMAO!!!

What do you do for national/international news?

The Haystack Application which can be tailored to your liking and a lot of our local stations have their applications.

I have Haystack on our Rokus and it's also on our Samsung smart (sometimes) TVs.

At least with Haystack you don't have to put up with the local lawyer, bathfitters, Anderson windows, and leaf filter ads!

Cord cutting is becoming less and less desirable for me. I prefer everything in as few places as possible.

OH believe me, they are trying hard to go back to the cable like packs where you pay tons of money for content. Look at the Paramount/Warner Brothers/Discovery/HBO Max merger. You think you are going to get all of that for what you've been paying? No way. Look for more to watch all of that. They are going to get down to like 3 or 4 companies for all your content and it will cost you out the butt, just like cable/satellite did. It will take a lot of juggling to drop when you don't want to watch and add when something good comes on you do want to watch. But at least you don't have to worry about DVR and Additional receiver fees anymore, huh? ;)

Yup.

When you see Prime Video and Netflix buying right for sports streaming, you know what comes next -- increased prices and they all will end up at the same $$.
