OTA antenna module

When I get my D* receivers, I hear there is no way of knowing which ones I will get. If I get one without OTA built in, can I get the OTA module free as a new sub, or will i get charged some outrageous price for something that should be built in, in the first place?

There's a trade off either way. If you get the HR20 with integrated OTA, it has a smaller hard drive.

If you get one of the others, you can add the OTA tuner for $50 plus tax and shipping but you can ask for waiver on shipping cost.

Yes, it should be included, negotiate as best you can when you sign-up because after that you're like the rest of us: existing customer and subjected to all TOS.

i don't want it for HD DVR, just for a standard HD receiver. i like getting the extra locals that D* doesn't have.

I needed the AM21 for locals and they were not gonna budge on the $50, but I said if they had HR20's just give me those and that's exactly what I got. I talked to at least 3 CSR's on the $50 for the tuners, and they were not going to negotiate on it for me.

The CSR you talked to had NOTHING to do with you getting a HR20, that just happened to be what the installer had on the truck or in the warehouse.
