I actually do have VOIP connected to the phone wires.Because after all, if you still have Satellite, you probably still have a landline (or VoIP connected to your dwelling phone wires).
No landline hereBecause after all, if you still have Satellite, you probably still have a landline (or VoIP connected to your dwelling phone wires).
And if not hooked up to Ethernet it reports PPV purchases and sends receiver health updates. The phone jack is for Caller ID…
That's an unbecoming opinionated statement coming from you. I don't know anyone who has a landline still. Even my dinosaur buddy who uses Spectrum TV (pardon my language) doesn't have a landline. I haven't had a landline for over 20 years. I do have DISH satellite by choice. It is still by far the best option out there for me.Because after all, if you still have Satellite, you probably still have a landline (or VoIP connected to your dwelling phone wires).
And I know several that do. Mostly old folks like me. I had an AT&T landline for many years but they have a bad business plan for our underground copper in my area. After the second time that I had a noisy line I quit them and went to OOMA. Mrs. Bobby wanted to keep that phone number as a house number. We both have cells.I don't know anyone who has a landline still.
Hah, we are so much alike. I have a Hopper 3, a Panasonic telephone system that includes the answering machine, and even that Canon multifunction printer with FAX!I have an AT&T "landline" which is the same phone number I've had since my first house. It comes out of the back of my ADSL modem, but it works the same. And, when people call the house, I get notified on our TV of the Caller ID and #. Even if I could get Fiber we would still have telephone service.
I'm a dinosaur (rawr) and in addition to the Hopper 3, we have a Panasonic answering machine and even a Canon multifunction printer that includes FAX.
I'm in the Apple ecosystem and the AppleTV App keeps track of what programs we're watching and which Apps they're available on. Mrs. Foxbat and I have separate Apple IDs on the Apple TV so she can watch her "Tracker" and I can watch my "Pluribus"…I do stream Paramount+ and Prime Video, but hate their format. Every time I go to watch something on either, I have to hunt for several minutes, then figure out which episodes I have or haven't watched.

id'e rather have a guide with everything i watch right in front of my face. than to be fumbling around with different apps trying to remember what's on where and then there's app crashes sometimes. if $$$$ is not an issue then sat service is still worth it!!! while streaming has it's place it's not all what it's cracked up to be...That's an unbecoming opinionated statement coming from you. With DISH, I just delete an episode as I watch it and don't have to worry about it anymore. Takes about 30 seconds to be watching TV from turning on the receiver.
I got rid of my land line about 15 years ago. It simply doesn't make sense to have one since all that calls me on it was people trying to sell you crap or scam you. We just use our cell phones for everything. The phone jack is for Caller ID…
what's the smart card slot for. i think that's a dead feature. i don't think they give leased subs physical cards any longer since they stopped that and went to a built in modelThe phone jack is for Caller ID…
My buddy recently got the Plus unit added to his old hopper with sling and two Joey 4s replaced his Joey 3s and I saw it at Thanksgiving when I went to his house to visit. It is cool. It outputs the upconverted 4k picture on everything and even does real 4k if something is in it, and you can program your remote to launch the apps. The apps are all included in the same DISH interface.id'e rather have a guide with everything i watch right in front of my face. than to be fumbling around with different apps trying to remember what's on where and then there's app crashes sometimes. if $$$$ is not an issue then sat service is still worth it!!! while streaming has it's place it's not all what it's cracked up to be...

I'm on the fence about getting the hopper+!!! sounds like i should get one now. we have been getting our feet wet with the joey 4 we love it it has amazing PQ over the 4k joey. the PQ is brighter and sharper. some say it's not a fast box but that has not been our exp ours has been blazing fast!!! i can watch youtubes in the bedroom and netflix nowMy buddy recently got the Plus unit added to his old hopper with sling and two Joey 4s replaced his Joey 3s and I saw it at Thanksgiving when I went to his house to visit. The apps are all included in the same DISH interface. So he could have all his favorite apps right at his fingertips and it comes out in upconverted 4k as well. So you don't have to use the guide to launch Netflix or Prime or Youtube if you don't want to. You simply add them to the Plus or Joey 4 units and they are fast and easy to get in and out of. The Joey 4s also do the same thing in the other rooms. You add the apps you want to them as well and the keep them on that interface. So no more switching to different inputs or fire sticks or rokus . Its all in one interface in anyroom you have the plus or the joey 4s in. I was very impressed with the whole thing and spent some time playing with it. The HDR is very colorful, the picture sharp and the audio sounds better to me. I wish they had this about 5 years ago, I might not of cancelled DISH back then. I could of added the TABLO app or the Sling App and used it for my locals and not even had to fool with the usb ota tuner or the lack of guide information. All in one interface. So cool!![]()
. and the voice remotes work and not tell you some crazy sh*t like when i tell it to tune to espn and it kicks back that i am not subscribed to espn it changes over to it!!! if you resigned back up with dish youd'e be a new customer so you would get the wheels and deals
