OTA no working after Update

Send it to me. Next month, the dual tuners will quit working and the single tuner will be back in favor.
I am SO glad I never pushed these things. If someone had an OTA and had it hooked to their TV, I would tell them to LEAVE it that way. As a retailer with a business to run, I try to change as LITTLE as possible when I install a system. Otherwise you are just BEGGING for a ton of calls from ticked off customers saying "it worked fine before you changed things". 42 yrs in business has taught me a LOT. There is nothing like the lessons experience teaches you.

Use a TiVo for OTA, much more user friendly and TV's mostly don't record.

I also caved and bought a dual tuner OTA dingle on Amazon. Connected it and it was recognized by the Hopper3. All my OTA Chanels are now available again. I actually like having the dual tuner feature because I can record one OTA channel and watch another. That's a great benefit over the old dongle.

Tablo is a great way to get OTA.
Yes, I have a TABLO Next Gen 4 tuner device that I hooked up a small hard drive to. Reliable software and it just works without any issues. The only complaint is one of my sub channels for HEROES station has the wrong times zone for the guide information. I notified TABLO and they said they weren't interested in fixing time zone issues and that was after I worked to have those 6 sub channels provided with Guide information from them in the first place. So I can't record anything off that sub channel with name based recording. That was the one channel I wanted to have too. All those Star trek Shows I could record.

My OLD single tuner OTA dongle quit several weeks ago. Hopper3 with 2 Joeys.
H711 software. I am in California.
It had the glitchy-ness when playing back OTA that was DVR-ed.

Can you have multiple OTA dongles on one system? One on H3 and one on Joey?
Dual tuner on order.

addendum: I did chat with support today, they did not acknowledge any brick-age, just said to buy a new one.
I am forced to use a TIVO unit for OTA for The CW Network! It is not in my Locals-Package and they refuse to add CW to the Guide (when the dongle worked).

**This is something the FCC should step in and force Satellite/Cable companies to fix.
It is BS and NOT in the publics best interest. Having Sat/Cable carry locals is a win-win and should not have these disputes, in my humble opinion.

Companies would find that customers are much more thankful when they admit there is an issue, "we apologize"...here's a solution.
People/Companies are terrified to admit they made a mistake or have to deliver bad news....it happens....admit it and move on. That is one of the reasons I've got customers who have dealt with me for 42 yrs.....they know they can trust me. Trust is hard to earn and can be quickly lost.

YES! I learned this in school YEARS ago when someone studied it in depth;
It wasn't the companies with the least issues, it was the ones that handled them professionally and resolved them.
Nowadays with all the anonymous 3rd party surveys and opinions, people can be jerks and "feel good" about it when they don't even understand how things work.

In the beginning, I picked Dish over DTV because Dish's website was laid out nicely where you could see all the channels and packages. It did not feel scammy like things turned into.

Dish does horrible things like after being on hold and working with support, they "accidentally" hang up on you and refuse to give you a way to call back, so back in the Q you go. (I called when they started charging me rental fees on units I own!). I would have switched long ago if I had a better choice.
I really believe if Dish presented professionally, word of mouth from everyone like the users here would boost them way up.

WOW.....I just had a customer last Wednesday complain about the same thing. He said he was on hold for something like 40 min and then "click".....disconnected. He's old school and simply couldn't understand how a company would have a system that allowed that.
Now for me....when I call retail services, I have no issues and usually get someone on the phone in quick order. If a family member wants to contact Dish however....I always tell them to let me handle it.

I have no issues with my OTA, but got a Tablo, but I could never get it to connect to my Internet.

They have never offered to call you back?? The robot has always setup a callback so you don't have to sit on hold!!!

Are you able to schedule OTA recordings using the dongle? If I try to schedule a recording and have two shows already scheduled to record the Hopper tells me that no tuners are available. The scheduled shows creating the conflict are not OTA networks. They are shows delivered by satellite, such as TBS and CNBC. No other OTA shows are scheduled to record but I get the "no tuners available" error. The Hopper seems to be confused about the networks that should be counted as OTA. I have the Hopper 3 with H711 software and the Hopper Plus with version P15315. My dual tuner OTA model is P/N 213293.

Sounds like some folks here figure all hope is lost for ever getting the single tuner OTA dongle to work again.
