I recently dropped the Local package from Dish because I was getting them via an HD OTA. Now I realize that the TV2 cannot view the locals via OTA.

Anyone know a workaround to this? I want to be able to view my locals on TV2 using the OTA.

Thanks,

If you use the 622 in Dual user mode, you cannot view OTA locals on tv 2.

If you use the 622 in Single user mode and run either rca cables or component cables to the second tv from tv1 out jacks you can see ota locals.

Dish did this deliberately to keep people paying for locals.

If you need to watch an OTA program on TV2, start it recording and watch the recording while it records.

Otherwise, single mode.

In single mode TV1 RF will show you OTA channels as well. That is how I am running mine now.

The other option is what Jim suggested. Record the OTA channel off TV1 and watch them on TV2 right away.

See ya

Split the OTA signal, run one side to the 622 the other to a signal combiner. Run the TV2 output to the other side of the combiner then to the TV2 set. The sat signal will come in on the channel you set & you can use your TV tuner to get the OTA channels.

A good quality splitter will work for the combiner.
