Over the Air HD for 625 Receiver

I have a 625 (standard) receiver and I purchased a winegard outside antenna to pick up the over the air HD signal. If I hook my HD tv directly up to the antenna I get all the over the air HD channels however if I run it through the receiver my tv only picks up two of the 15 local HD Channels. Is this because my reciever is not HD? If so why do I get two of the HD channels but not the others?

Running OTA thru a 625 will not give you anything and it is blocking your ota signal. Run ota direct to your tv and switch tv tuner to get 625 signal.

Thats what I had to do to get all of my locals, I could only get half of them running it through my 211.

625 does not have digital tuner. The receiver may have been blocking the signal to the tv's tuner. In your case, the 211 may not be the same quality tuner as your tv, did you try adding the channels manually on the 211?
