I just received a Pansat 3500 SD received used from Amazon.com. I purchased this receiver to replace an old coolsat 4000 pro that expired. I am observing the following
messages while attempting to Blind Scan 97.0W.

1st message: 42 Transponders found (good)
2nd message: 0 program found (expected some channels to appear)

Signal and Quality levels look good for most transponders detected. Not sure if I am doing anything wrong. The menus displayed seem to be different than those shown in the user's manual.

Any suggestions? Anyway I can tell if the unit is defective?

I never got that message from my 3500SD. Try input some tp info from The List and do a TP scan. Double check the programming. Compare the tp's you scanned in to The List. Scan for "ALL" instead of just FTA maybe, Something seen may hint of what's going on.

I wonder what software is in it. Old hackerware can do some weird things.

I know my 1500 and clone 2500 Pansats sometimes on blind scan will show 0 TP scanned (but it wont even try...it just says "done). A re-blind scan fixes it

I think you just jogged my memory there Iceberg. Mine would do weird things like that if the memory was near full or somehow corrupted. Blind scan DONE in about a second, etc. Maybe all that needs done is a Factory Reset to get a "clean slate". That's what I would end up doing. It's worth a try. (It's been a while since I've had the 3500SD as primary.)

ah your right. Transponder overload.

The OP should go through and remove most TP's from the sats. Unless this is a brand new unit...then we have a different issue
