Looking to get some recomendations for Windows based photo editing and organization programs. I really liked iPhoto for the organization aspect but need to now find a windows based program.

What are some of the programs you use for this purpose.

Never had anything during all my years with Windows that compares to iPhoto. I used to use Picassa. It was fine. Did not wow me, but it works. iPhoto isn't perfect, and can drive me nuts, but I will say it has been the best i have used for this type of task.

I personally like Adobe photoshop elements myself.

Thanks, Just looked at elements again and it looks like they have added the features that I wanted to keep with the move away from iPhoto.

I would still like other opinions prior to going out and making a purchase.

Over the past year or so I have had the most fun playing with Picasa and their facial recognition feature. It has amazed me how accurate it can be at times (but it does also have some 'bad' suggestions, also).

To me it has just been a neat additional way to have years of photos organized. What photos do I have that include both Jimmy Jo and Sally Jo? Well lets just look......
