I was just reading a thread about people picking up news feeds from Hurricane Frances. I was wondering how to do this with other live news feeds--would they be the gray "(feeds)" items listed on LyngSat? If not, how are they picked up? Thanks!

Try IA6 first and do a blind scan and all the live feeds will be there, there is no point putting in the coordinates unless there is a live feed there, so the blind scan is the way to feed the feeds!

blind scan
smart scan

Thats the easiest way to get feeds. During the week, scan T6 (IA6) around the top of the hour..thats when alot of them are up (for the top news story)

When IVan comes, check AMC9 too. When Frances came, there was tons of feeds :)

So I take it I'll need a DVB receiver? Right now, as I mentioned in another thread, I only have an MPEG-1.5.

Also, C or Ku Band? I (will soon) have dishes for both.
