Ok to add a sat to my cs5000. I just have to go to the setup menu arrow to blank or ( 0.00 ) area. Then hit the red button put in the sat name then a strong tp from the LIST and exit out and hit yes to save. Now when I blind scan do I have to put in the freq to be scan and symbol rate.

A blindscan does NOT require any input settings, it' s purpose is to find any active tp's in the scan range. You do have to set up the lnbf frequency , typically 10750, and any switch setting necessary.
In the blindscan dialogue, you may notice that the range is 11700-12750 . Changing that range to 11700-12200 will shorten the scan time and cover the ku band over North America.

the manual entry is to do two things
-to make sure you are locked on that satellite
-to move the motor (the dish wont move otherwise)

blind scan doesnt need any entry

I was not sure about the blind scan since the sat was not in the list already.
