I live in southeast Oklahoma, closer to Fort Smith, Arkansas than to Tulsa, Oklahoma. Because of this, DirecTV is required to give me the Fort Smith channels instead of the Tulsa channels.
There are two problems with this situation. The Fort Smith ABC channel has a bad habit of showing Arkansas Razorback football games instead of Oklahoma Sooner games and second, HD locals are available in Tulsa, but not Fort Smith.
There is a bill called HR 2821 that will change this requirement. We should have the right to choose which local channels we want to receive.
I don't know how many areas around the country have the same issue, but it must be fairly common based on the threads asking about "moving".
Please contact your senators and representatives and ask them to support HR 2821.
