Possible to multiboot VU+ Zero 4K?

I currently run OpenPLi on the VU box. Can I test other OS distributions without overwriting OpenPLi by multibooting?

Nope. One image at a time on that STB.

Maybe it's time to upgrade that box to the Edision OS Mio 4k? That has 4 slots for images, and you can switch between them using the remote. You can probably sell the VU+ Zero, and get some money back.

The Edision is a damn good unit. Love it every bit as much as my Amiko HD.265

It looks like there may indeed be a way to do multiboot on some VU+ boxes but it doesn't say how many images you can have or which units support it:

There is a Plugin under plugins call openmultiboot that you install either on a Hard drive or USB memory stick and you can use it to install other images and boot the receiver on these images.

So in other words, the images would be stored on the EHD or flash drive and not on the STB itself?

Correct. The images are stored and launched from the drive.
