Mojo, I appreciate the advice.

Unfortunately, I actually did speak to a CSR about a week ago questioning the two charges, and was told that it was absolutely correct. Without something I can point to that shows that $10/mo is all everyone else is paying, I don't see how I'm going to convince them to change it.

Maybe it would be simpler to just drop the Platinum. Frankly, I can't imagine watching any of those channels...

Don't give up. Play CSR roulette. Even with dropping the Platinum HD, the price is still $10, and you should be paying $10 for both Silver and Platinum HD. Let me know how it goes. If that fails, then maybe dropping Silver HD and Platinum HD would allow you to add Silver and Platinum HD. However, I would try talking to a CSR before doing that as fees may incur for dropping programming. However, I am not sure if you would get a fee for dropping the two separately.

I think it is total horsesh*t for dish to sneak in dhpp (aka Service Plan) for $6 when I expressly did not ask for it and have repeatedly called to drop it in the past.

I don't believe I should have to pay a service plan and pay for leasing their equipment at the same time. One or the other.

joefloyd,
You could be getting Silver & Platinum HD for the same price ($10.00/month) as Silver HD. I would try to talk to a CSR online or calling Dish as another member suggested to get that changed. The following channels are available in Platinum HD:
361 MAV TV HD
363 IndiePlex HD
365 RetroPlex HD
366 Universal HD
371 Centric
373 Logo
374 Fashion TV HD
383 HDNet Movies
385 MGM HD
387 Crime and Investigation Network HD
394 World Fishing Network HD

Thank for the tip Mojo - Used online chat and after getting switched a couple of times and waiting 20 min the CSR said it would not be a problem. Seems to me like if it's available, it would make Dish look better if they would advise you proactively and let you know when you can get something you're not aware of. Everyone likes getting a little something extra - but it's not appreciated as much when you have to ask for it when you were already entitled to it.
Thanks again.

About 2 weeks ago, I was being charged $10 for just 'HD Silver'. I found out that if you login to your account online, you can switch it to 'HD & Platinum' yourself, and that gives you those extra 10 or so HD channels for the same $10.

Two boxes, a 722 and a 510.

So it goes up six bucks. And, wow, a loyalty adjustment of two whole bucks, for being a customer since the days of the 4700! I should be insulted that they think they can bribe me for twelve dollars spread out over six months.

I'll go down to AEP and HBO and save about $20:p

Wasn't there supposed to be some sort of reward for those of us who had our boxes connected to phone lines? Both have always been connected, and the 722 has a network connection too.

I might have taken this if it weren't for the two dollar adjustment.

I have a tv2 connection fee on this month's bill of $5. What is that?
This fee is not listed in the bill's "explanation of detailed activity" section.
I have 2 legacy 4900 receivers and a leased vip 222 dual tuner receiver (added in Jan 2010)
The 2 legacy receivers are $7 each:mad:
AT 250 w/locals 62.99 (up from 57.99)
Superstation Package 5.99 (was packaged with locals for 8.99)
So let's add this up:
legacy receiver fees up $2 each Total $4
Supersation fee 5.99 down $3
locals add on up $5
Total increase ......................................$6
Plus TV2 connection fee of $5
TOTAL INCREASE $11

Thank you Charlie and Co.

And another question...I received the HBO Showtime added free for 3 months when I leased the vip222 which shows on my bill as a credit for $22.
But I also have a "3 premium package" for $31...what is this???
I would like to get an answer here before I call Customer dis service at DN

FunkyBoss, you're a genius.

I just logged into my account. There were no choices available under "HD". I changed my main package to America's 250 and HD & Platinum appeared, preselected. Changed the main package back to America's 200 and the HD & Platinum stayed selected. Added the Multi-sports package and hit the Continue button. Amazing! My bill went down $2! Of course, neither the "old bill" or the "new bill" actually added up correctly, so I don't actually know what I'm going to be getting charged, but it's progress.

I'll try checking my bill again tomorow after the system has a chance to catch up with itself...

...
The $100 is a deal breaker when many seem to be upgrading for naught.
I'll try again tomorrow.

Well, trying CSR roulette didn't work. They wouldn't budge at waiving the $100 upgrade fee ($50/rcvr). Oh, "they'd hate to lose me as a customer", but not bad enough to waive 100 bucks.
Called back a fourth time and I gave in. HD's comin' on Saturday morning!

Here's mine with the AEP for just over 100. Than other items. Note the recent adjustment from GOLD and Platinum to GOLD+platinum. Did others also get hit with $5 fee for chaning to Gold+platinum?
I thought I'd post my newest bill which shows the new prices. Essentially up $7 now, and $23 in 6 months.

Note I will be gone to Fios next month. The price increases and nonsense with having to pay for a new dish (currently have 110/119/61.5) have driven me away.
