Hey, I have a 4-foot GeoSat Pro dish on the roof (Sky Mexico). Pretty big though and a bit of an eyesore even though it's brand new and rust free. And I was thinking of painting a nice image or pattern on the back of it. Any problem with doing this as far as reception?

Yes I say go for it also, and make sure and show us pics when you are done..;)

Just use flat (not gloss) paint for the front.
Flat paint might be a wise choice for the back, just for esthetic reasons, too.
Be careful on the color or pattern you choose.

I'd lean toward a dull medium grey. I doubt any shade of blue would be satisfactory.
If you'll llook at the two BUDs in my signature, the solid is bright white, and the perforated is a dull grey - darned thing almost disappears. ;)
We've had several members here who've camouflaged their dishes to make them less conspicuous.
Maybe they'll chime in with pictures.

If you are fixed on Sky-Mexico, and don't need to see other birds, could you move the dish to a location below the roof line?

We had someone else asking about Sky Mexico reception on a 1.2m dish in Texas.
Where are you located (generally) and how good a signal are you getting?
Any fade in bad weather?
