Problem Splitting Signal

I have a channel master 4228 antennae and a channel master 7777 preamp. I am trying to get it to two tv's. Here is how I have it setup...

Antennae --> 7777 pre-ammp --> one port power pass splitter

--> 7777 power supply --> TV1

--> TV 2

In this scenario, one of my channels (59.1) cannot be viewed on TV1. To troubleshoot I took the power supply and put it at TV2 and switched the outputs on the splitter. Then TV2 could not get channel 59.1. This channel is marginal - it drops out at about "58%" on the meter, and I get about 68-70% on the good side. The splitter says "Eagle Aspen D-2000" on it.

Seems like the power side of the splitter is not receiving as much signal as the non-powered side. Is this imbalance normal?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Put the power supply before the splitter and use a standard 2 way spliiter.

I will give that a try. I am going to have to put a new power outlet in the attic, but that should not be too big of a deal. I will run an extension cord first and see if that works.

The splitter says "Eagle Aspen D-2000" on it.

It is wired right. The splitter may be bad.

I went ahead and did as suggested and put the power supply before the split. This works. So now it looks like this...



Antennae --> Pre-Amp --> Power Supply --> Splitter --
--> TV1
--> TV2


And both TVs are getting adequate signal. Now I get to run a power outlet to the attic. Woo Hoo!

The big problem has been finding an existing run that has enough slack in it to add a junction box to split off of. It's never as easy at is should be.

My attic light switch was in the attic so I added an outlet before the switch then continued to the switch it was easy because there was no flooring at the time everything was open.
