Prorate Billing on Channels

There is one channel I want on the 250 package... and only one event that will happen about 5 times all year on the channel. The channel is Versus.

Can I call and switch to the package and the next day switch out of it? In other words, can I be prorated for a single day of switching programming?

I don't know what Dish's official stance on this is, but I do know they charge a $5 fee any time you want to "downgrade" your programming by dropping down to a lower channel package or removing "premium" channels (HBO, Showtime, etc). So yes you can upgrade, but then when you try to drop back down to your original package they'll charge you a $5 fee on top of the pro-rate. I believe they started doing the $5 fee thing to try and discourage people from doing what you're wanting to do.
