PS3 RPG's?

I've been playing Oblivion, but I'm getting frustrated with this game. Maybe a little too wide open, and most of the side quests are just silly. The underground areas are too repetitive, also. So I'm looking for a different RPG. Any suggestions?

Yeah it is somewhat startling the lack of RPGs on the PS3. That was a major issue with the original Xbox which MS quickly resolved with the new system. You do have the new FFXIII coming out next year, and Eternal Sonata coming out soon for the PS3. I played it for the 360 and it was a nice little RPG. Worth adding to the gamefly queue.

I haven't played it for the PS3, but it was ported to PS3 by a studio other than the one that made it and is believed to be the worse of the versions (PC being the optimal one here).

Doesn't mean you wouldn't enjoy it perhaps, but I'd rent it before buying.

Allegedly it has some loading issues and frame rate hiccups that the 360 and high end PCs didn't have. I played it for the 360 and thought it was an unbelievable package of games, but you're probably best off with the PC version of Orange Box if you can get it since you can get the most amount of added user content. It's probably not a bad game to get for the PS3, but be aware of the fact that you will be getting the "worst" version of the game.

A lot of official updates too, a few of the classes have received upgrades and achievements. These are coming to the 360 late this year. If it's a Valve game, you're best off getting it for your PC.

Well I guess I'll cross that one off the list, slow load rates drive me nuts. Anything else similar you guys would recommend - shooter/RPG crossover?

Might be a bit of a stretch, but if you haven't played it for PC or 360 I would STRONGLY suggest you get "Bioshock" when that comes out for the PS3. It is really one of the greatest first person shooters ever made.

Have you plowed through all the demos on PSN? If not, some good/bad games could be more fun to you than we might expect... Pure, GRID, Haze, Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank, Pixel Junk Monsters, etc

Saints Row 2 is due out on October 14th. It's kind of a rip-off of GTA but looks as if
it may be decent.
