Purchase 30" dish?

Has anyone installed their own dish? There seems to be so much talk about having a larger dish (better signal strength, rain fade reduction). Will this be pointless if Voom is going to be upgrading the dishes in October? Will a 30" be compatible come October (when the switch is made to mpeg4)?

What kind do I want to get and where do I get one from? How much do they cost?

If the 30" dish you are considering is round, don't do it. The upgrade from V* will be an eliptical dish designed to receive from 2 satellites. A round dish will only receive from one.

I wouldn't buy anything and wait for voom to come around and upgrade your dish. I think I jumped the gun and did get Voom to upgrade my dish, but according to some other post this isn't the "new" dish.
