I decided to go with the triple play and will get a connection to VOIP with CV this coming weekend. My question:

I have my cable modem on the second floor right in the middle of the house because I get better reception with the wireless for my entire property. My current phone is phisically located on the first floor by kitchen. Is there going to be a problem with this setup? How are they going to be able to make the connection to the cable modem and my phone?

They connect the MTA (your new modem they will give you) Directly to your house wiring, so every line in the house will work as it does with the traditional copper land line.

Sean,
I have OV VoIP. The modem has a phone jack, to achieve "whole home wiring" you connect the jack on the modem to an existing phone jack. That back-feeds the phone line connection to all the other jacks in the house.
BTW get the Lithium-Ion battery back up. 8 hours of juice for the modem in case you loose power. About $50 on the Optimum Store.

Anyone using Vista Media Center & STB's?
