Sorry guys if you can't find it then you will need to wait til tommorow, until then please keep the PQ feedback coming. :)

Scott- if I stare closely right up to the screen at ESPN2HD with the HD bars I can see the macroblocking shifting on the black lines, I am too tired to explain it better, know what I mean?

Yes The color BLACK seems to be a problem for the encoders. I have seen some B&W stuff which looked terrible in other mpeg4 tests I have seen.

Yup :)

Again just trying to let people who dont know share there feelings on the PQ.

Again the answer is in this forum, I just ask that people dont ruin our "blind test" here because they know the answer.

I have a 65" Mits. I am seeing a better pic on all the channels, even Starz; although Starz is still the weakest of the 6, IMO. I'm still seeing some motion blurriness on HG. The colors seem brighter and the picture seems a little sharper. Have they done anything to any of the VOOM channels? Some of them look better too. I'm anxiously waiting for Tom B and Sean M to chime in. :D

Nothing done yet on the VOOM channels only on the 6 channels listed on the first page of this thread.

62"Mits DLP1080p with 211 via HDMI 12ft away.

NFLhd - Super bowl 25, PQ sucks, It is 16 yrs old. Commercials as good as normal,
ESPN2 -Figure skating. Nice as usaul.
Nat Geo- "is it real " appears better. Colors seem brighter. Detail about the same ,maybe little better,
Starz- ?? Shaggy Dog. seems soft as usaul. could just be the movie.
HGTV- colors seem more intense and more detailed.
Food-Bobby Flay BBQ. like HGTV.

Food and HGTV seem to have improved, colors are more vived like on CSI Miami and sharpness seems to be better. As good as HDMV and HD net.

Wow, looks smoother, I also sub to D* and there is a huge diff now, whats the deal?

this thread is entertaining...

*scott please tell us*

Search works well if you know how to use it. Anyway the answer, as scott has said at least 10+ time will come in the morning. If it's driving you crazy he gave you so many clues use the search, you'll find it!

9425 - ESPN2 HD - SD content (Ice Skating - yech.) can't tell
9426 - NFL HD -SD content
9429 - National Geographic HD - Looks better - "Deep Sea Drillers" cool! like porn for engineers!
9435 - StarzHD - "Six Days, Seven Nights" - picture really looks good.
9461 - HGTV HD - can't tell, don't watch it much
9462 - Food HD - can't tell, only watch Alton Brown and Giadda (don't ask)

I'd say something is different. Pictures seem a bit sharper, colors brighter. "Firefly" on 9427 - UNIHD looks crappy in comparison. Back to watching Drillers.

Just tell us Scott.Any news on the RSN'S when there coming.
Please.... In the time you've begged him for an explanation you could have put 1% effort into looking in other threads for the answer.

As for the RSNs, give up on them.... Even Charlie Ergen alluded to the same.

My wife went through the HD channels and she said it looks great and noticible better. That means a lot ! :) I saw that the picture does look a bit sharper . We do not subscribe to the movie channels.

Everything that's in HD right now does look better on my 61" Samsung DLP. ESPN is showing SD now, so I can't tell anything there yet. NFL also SD. Hope they look better in HD too! Hope this is a sign of things to come!

How is Dish still showing HD RSN games on HDPPV 9467 then?

I'm cracking up over here.... :D :D :D

It's a public change people. I can't tell you his name but a little birdie even posted a picture of the changes ;)

I'll give you a hint...I know him very well.

I don't see macroblocking tiling on HGTV like I used to. Don't wanna give Dish too many props even when they once again have 4 of them in 1440x1080
