They never say how long. Could be up to a month but more probably will finish any day now since there are only two beams (assuming all went well)

They earlier said they were out some lease money due to a later than anticipated launch and they would have it in place asap. I would guess soon as long as there are no anomalies encountered during testing.

It's a replacement at 77W. There are locals on 77, locals on a ConUS beam instead of a spot beam.

No.

They test in bursts and licensed test ground transmit stations from 3 different companies indicating they are likely rotating the satellite on it's axis and needed wide geographic locations to maintain uplinks.
They are probably measuring the downlink beams at a single or few locations which would standardize the test data.

I can see testing now on the BLSA.
There is currently a spike moving back and forth across Transponder 18.

Filed today to relocate Echostar 8 longitude within the 77W cluster so as to provide space for Quetzsat 1.
Filing also reports that Echostar 8 is in inactive spare status.

Isn't 77 allocated to Mexico? Does Echostar have to ask Mexico, also?
