Quick question

I'm canceling my subscription with D* and was wondering is there anyway to watch shows I have recorded on my DVR without the service or will I just lose them.

I assume you have a newer receiver, if so it is leased. You will have to return it when you cancel.

Even if you could keep it, if I am not mistaken, service has to be active to use any of the features

Before you cancel you can transfer to VCR or DVD.
