I suspect that DirecTV is about to do a channel number change. And are using both temporarily.
317 is in the area of other shopping channels, so 275 may be going away.

For the right payment, DirecTV would put QVC on as many channels as they want.

Exactly why we've got several shopping channels in the 80/90 range now.

I would guess QVC asked for more placement.

Except for the few MPEG2 HD's in the 70's, the SD & HD version of a given channel have always had the same ch#

if you look carefully, a lot of the infomercial channels are on 2 or 3 channels each. they must get more money that way.
