We had a message on our R15-500 today saying "formatting HDD failed" so it completely died, and we have a replacement on the way.

There is a new line on our account online under "My services" which has me scratching my head, though.

Now I know and am full aware that a replacement receiver is not supposed to extend your commitment, but there is a new line in our online account that states, "No annual commitment, $0.00" We are only about a month into our new 2 year commitment for getting a new HR22 a month or so back.

I am wondering, did they just accidentally remove our commitment, or is this just a note to whoever activates the replacement receiver?

Glad to see a thread on this specific topic. I was told as a 'valued customer' of 15 years they are throwing me a bone as they know I'm going nowhere. It could also relate to specific programming but that's not what I was told. Since I plan on hanging around forever I wasn't too concerned but think it's a very good idea for older customers (call them legacy premiere customers) & at the very least every sub should have their commitment date somewhere on their website. I understand why they don't do it, but it would be nice anyway.

Got a new DVR just last week & by the letter of the law should be on the hook for almost two more years, website says differently. Not worth another call at the moment but if some free time pops up Tuesday morning I will ask a CSR again.
