RC32RF Backlite Remote Setup

This is probably a dumb question, but I have both the RC34 & RC32RF backlite remotes and I am unable to get either one of these remotes to work in the RF mode and I do not know why ? The RC34 has the FCC ID label on the back - so I assume it can be programmed to work in the RF mode. I have followed the instructions provided in the Remote Setup screens, entered the codes requested, but when I complete the process and hit DONE it does not work for either remote. I have a HR20-100 with the antenna attached to the back. Is it possible the this DVR does not have the capability to enable the RF mode ? I called DirecTV tech support and they have not been able to resolve my problem. Help - anyone. Twice I have gotten to the point where the remote does not work in either IR or RF mode and I had to hit the reset button to get the IR mode to work. Thanks, pofied

Are you entering the last 6 digits of the receiver ID # found on a sticker in the access card compartment?
