RC64R Remote doesn't work at all

Hi! I have a rc64r remote and put batteries in it and it doesn't do anything.
Is there something wrong with the remote? Did this remote come with my
HD Receiver? I've been using the rc64. Help!!

Does the green light light up when you push a button? If not check the batteries.

Remote RC64R Will Not Work

I put new batteries in the remote and still no green lights. Should I call
DirecTV? I think that it came with the new HD receiver and they installer never
programed it. So I think that I just laid it aside.

Did you put the batteries in the right way and are you positive the batteries have a charge? If not then can you use your old remote?

Look inside the battery compartment to see if there is any paper blocking the negative contact. I think I had a bunch of RC24s that were packaged with some security tapes and they pushed into the battery compartment and insulated the contact.
