Thanks for the information, Wilt. Lots of unneccesary reboots then.

Is it best to put the stb in standby each evening, or can it be left ON
24/7 as I have been doing?

The customer service tech to whom I spoke said that most problems come
when the box is left on overnight.She said that my problem was due to
tthe box being left on an when VOOM sent several downloads. I didn't
buy what she said. Obviously, your explanation for this problem had
nothing to do with leaving the box on.

But what would be the best tthing to do?

It has been clearly stated on may occasions the the box has to be left in standby or should be left off when tv is not in use. Get a Harmony report and you won't have to worry about it because when you turn the TV off the box is turned off too.
