Hi All -

I've been a Direct customer for a number of years. Ordered a new DVR receiver earlier in the year. Bad move on my part. Should have stuck with the old DVR receiver as the new one has been riddled with tech issues. Calls to DirecTV Tech support have been band-aids only (i.e., they still will not send a new receiver).

That said, wondering if anyone knows whether it's possible to reactivate an older DVR receiver. I have a Phillips DSR704 with TiVo (I own it, not leased).

Thanks. Next step will be moving over the DISH.

If the 704 was in use earlier this year you have a current access card so all it should take is connecting it to a TV and the dish then calling for activation.

Funny how missing one word changes the entire meaning - meant to say "moving to the DISH Network Appreciate your inquiry, though
