rebate issues.... surprise, surprise...

Same issue...and a solution...

I had the SAME exact issue. I upgraded my DISH service in early August to the HD package with a new HD DVR, after upgrading my television to an HD DLP. After weeks of not receiving my rebate, that I had sent in with my first bill that had the new HD content, I called and emailed DISH Network. I was emailed back that I was not eligible for the rebate. I went back and forth via email, asking the representative to check their actual records, as I was explicitly told not only that I was eligible, but that the phone representative who took my order GAVE ME THE LINK to the rebate PDF and gave me detailed instructions on what to do to get the rebate, which I did. After about six emails back and forth, and after they tried to barter me down, I got the rebate of $20 a month off for six months.

The key is to be persisten, but as I told them in my email, it smacked of lying and bait and switch tactics. After nine years with DISH Network, I expected better service.

I like rebates. I use rebates. I have success with rebates.... usually ....

I upgraded to HD service back in AUGUST. DIU my 625 to a 622. Mailed in the rebate form for the $100 receiver rebate PLUS the $10 off per month for 10 months. I've called a couple times and always been patient and never nasty. I have checked the rebate status web site and it was forever in "Processing". I checked a couple days ago and it says I am being denied. That my account does not qualify! Also says they will call me. I called the redemption department and they can't transfer me to the Client Research (or Customer Research) department because they don't know the number.

OK, so NOW I'm getting a little ticked off. Should I call Dish's main number and ask for client research? Or do I sit and wait for them to call me (when I work all day) and hope I can return a call to them?

I also have a rebate issue I have not read here.I upgraded to HD with diu(622)with 3 301,waited for over 2 months for my first bill to arrive.Upon arrival bill stated rebate must be sent within 60 days.well its been over 60 days but i sent form anyway, about a week later my letter came back and was stamped BOX CLOSED .what can i do?I called after I recieved a late bill notice and they said they mailed it but I am my own mail carrier and was looking for bill to send rebate but never got it .thanks for any help.

This seems like a good enough place to ask--does a PDF (of the month's bill) qualify for the rebate when you have paperless billing?

Yes, just print out the PDF and mail it in. That is what we did. Our rebate has passed through all the various phases and it says the check was mailed out (sometime in early Dec.) though we have not seen it (haven't e-mailed ceo or anything yet).

I'm getting the error on my rebate "Does not meet Promotional Offer Qualifications". I upgraded my 625 to a 722 in November. Dish has to be the most unorganized company I have ever dealt with.

I'm happy to report that after using the ceo addy I had a reply and the $200 credit I was owed applied manually to my account within a matter of hours. :) Been waiting for almost 4 months and called twice to no avail. Should've emailed before but I didn't wanna abuse the address. My thanks to this forum!:up

I saw that in the CES feed. In all seriousness, I've had really good CS experiences, most of which were domestic (I tend to call in the evenings). But I do think that when it comes to actually being able to handle key things (like rebates, for instance), they're impotent. I wish there was a way to make the CSRs at least a LITTLE closer to the quality and capability of the Exec Relations office, or at the very least be able to track down these solutions. Right now there is no chain of command to easily escalate the situations.

When it comes to programming changes and switching out defective receivers, my experiences have been very good.

He should have a big concern in the fact that it took 3 721 replacements before I got one that actually worked right. One rattled and had a dead hard drive, the other 2 just had dead hard drives. It took a few weeks to solve that mess. My vip211 replacement was a little smoother, but less to go wrong (in that case the box totally destroyed the internal smart card and the replacement was successful the first time around).

Just checked the rebate site as I have been waiting for my rebate since August. It had moved from Processing to Required Validation Period but there was an error listed on my application. The error says, " Your account does not have a qualifying program required for this offer - CLIENT WILL CALL CONSUMER". I did notice the rebate web site has my phone number listed incorrectly and I haven't received a call or anything in the mail. I just emailed Dish through their online email after trying to call customer support, but the customer support line just gives a busy signal. I was assured that I qualified for the DIU program when I ordered the 622. Not sure what to do now. May have to email ceo@echostar.com.

Just got email back from Dish saying they approved my rebate and it will be applied on my 28 Jan bill. Very happy.

I'm still waiting to see if mine gets applied. Because I'm bundled with my phone company, I can't see my current account information. Dish basically sends the bill to my phone company, then my phone company posts teh bill on my account there. I won't be able to see if this actually got fixed until somewhere around the 25th of this month.

Does anyone have the latest website for the actual rebate PDF? I just upgraded a week ago to HD and a 722 but didn't get the address. Thank you.

wow.... well my bill finally came through with a $100 credit for the equipment upgrade.... but the $10 a month for 10 months part was not there. so I called Dish (again) and got to an account specialist. I told him all I had been through trying to pry my rebates out (since AUGUST) and he was apologetic. He said executive resolution had manually applied the $100 credit but apparently "forgot" to apply the $10 recurring for 10 months. So he offered me $50 credit off my next 2 bills and I took it. Hopefully this is now over with :)

I emailed the ceo@ address about my rebate. They got back to me within 2 days and let me know that they manually input the rebate and it would start showing on my bill next month. :up

I had the same problem. The rebate status showed "processing" forever and now says I don't qualify. I chatted online and they say it should be resolved within a week. We'll see.

so far in my experience with this, "resolved within a week" just means "whew... I got THAT one to go away for a while"

I figured out WHY mine said I didn't qualify (my account number is not a "normal" Dish Network account number due to bundling". If you call, ask to speak to Executive Resolution. It will be manually fixed "right now" not "within a week".

That's what I am afraid of, but I guess 1 week won't kill me. :)

How long did it take to go from submision not found to processing?? I sent my rebate in with a tracking number and it was delivered on Jan. 30 2007!! I have checked for the rebate progess everyday and it still comes up as not found!

I had to 722's installed on Jan. 6 and then had to wait for my online statement to be posted, to procede with the rebate. I am now waiting on the 200 dollars, I still am not sure how the payment will be made.

Is it in a lump sum or $10 credit each month till paid off??? Thanks
