Hello everyone.

I am a new customer with DirecTV. Yesterday they installed a Slim line Dish.
I connected my receivers a HR23-700 and R15-0700. However, I received some errors during the initial setup of both receivers. Can anyone please help me solve or figure out these errors please?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Why are you setting up the receivers instead of the installer? Have D* come back out and complete the installation correctly.

I'm going with Dish Alignment on this one, but that's just an uninformed guess. Either that, or you have some bad cables, or long runs.

What are your signal strength numbers ?

Your numbers are a bit low, but not enough that you should be having trouble getting picture.

What errors were you talking about ?

If you know how to do a software download, give it a go and then see what you get. New requirements are 80's anything under that and you get errors.

Do a software download and come back and see what you have.

But that 110 won't let you go anywhere being 0's like that

Dave,
What kind of errors ?
This must be something new.

Yeah it is fairly new, last couple weeks best I can remember. If you have less then 80 on your transponders then you get errors on your 13v and 18v per satelite.

It won't let you pass the installation verification screen, PITA. and mostly BS.

In this case he's having 110, 103, and 99 problems and his numbers are all over the map, I've seen this before and usually a software download takes care of it.

What I see here is the 110 at 0's and that too me, first thoughts tell me bad lnb, but I don't want to jump the gun.

I saw that too, but figured if it was a LNB that the other sats would be showing trouble as well. Like every other one would be zero.

That make sense ? I guess it could be going bad.

How do I do a software download?

Menu > Set Up > System Set Up > Reset > Restart Receiver > Dash

The unit will shut down, once unit starts to start back up, as soon as you see the ring of lights light up push 0, 2, 4, 6, 8 then you'll see something on the screen that normally will say something like New software found.

Found an update on the R15 Receiver. No changes with signal strength.
However, I could not get it to update the HR23.

Three thoughts:

- Mast is not level (dead on)
- Poor/improper ground
- Reversed polarity on your power source

Did you do the install or did D?

If D, call them back out.
