Receiver Updating for Bell

Hello,

Any suggestions on what channels should you leave on to have your receiver take a regular update (programming guide and ect)

I have a 3100 and 6131.

Channel 198 maybe?

actually channel number is irrelevant. The guide is on 91W and updates at night. To force the guide to load, do a soft reboot (press and hold down power button on receiver until it goes out then release) or a check switch (that forces the guide too)

With your 3100, removing the smart card and re-inserting also causes a reboot and a full Guide download.

I will have to see if inserting any kind of card into the 6131 will do the same, I seem to remember that it used to but it has been a long time since I tried that.

It is also important to turn off the receivers overnight, when not in use.
