Reed Switch

is there a way to test a reed switch ? i have a multimeter
i know that two of the switches didn't work or register (count) when i connected up to a v-box . and want to check before i order a new switch or two....

Hook it up to your multimeter, check if open or shorted, put a good magnet near it and it should change states.
