For those with the Platninum Pack, don't forget you can record the final lift off from NASA today in HD, channel 362 HDNET. There are some local networks channels that will also cover a portion of it, usually those in Florida. At the time I posted it was still a go.

And how sad CBS news (and perhaps others) can't report correctly. There were three crews lost during the manned spaced era (Their words) not two.

EDIT - it's available in top 120 and above.....

Yep, my mistake. Was it originally in the pack? I have had top 250 forever, when I got HD I only got HD net after getting the platinum pack. It's in the guide with the Platinum pack channels also.

We just got back .Huge crowds . The traffic going back to Orlando was really bad. It didn't help that it started to rain about 45 minutes after the launch. Can't make this a long post because we have to be at The Villages by 6pm. Very emotional for many people. Many around me had not seen a shuttle before and it surprised them when they heard the noise. We were about 200 feet away from the HDnet crew. We could hear the audio from the Launch Control because of the setup someone had. I believe it was HDnet. When it got down to 31 seconds they had a hold and everyone got ready for a scrub. Then a big cheer when the countdown started again. I don't care what anyone else tells you , when you know that people are on that shuttle you get nervous. I do when I watch it at home. Lots of tears after he went up. It went fast in the clouds from our angle.

I don't know if this is true or not but someone told me that the reason they stopped the count was because one of the cameras froze and that someone at NASA thought the beanie cap was still on the Space Shuttle. Yikes!! I guess he was only looking at one camera and it froze up showing him just a still. I don't know. No wonder he stopped it.

If you get the chance to see a rocket go off from the Cape it's worth it . Just as much fun to watch.
