You will lose HBO because only ATT -Directv Now will allow you to get HBO discounted to just $5.00 a month. They are doing this to push out the competition, mainly DISH.
A strategy which could backfire. Instead of switching to ATT, I just canceled HBO. Problem solved
Seems to me like taking over management of an existing successful, highly profitable company then planning to radically change it immediately is a rookie mistake. ATT should know better than that
I'm paying $15.00 for HBO. I called Dish for a discount. The CSR a programming specialist said that there are no current discounts available. In the past you could go online to change your programming. Delete HBO and a popup would give you a valued customer discount. Not anymore at least for me.
I just get Netflix. Does HBO offer any better movies than Netflix? Plus, I can watch on my schedule without recording.
I hardly watch any movies at all on HBO. I sub to it for their original series. Oevr the years there have been a ton of great stuff...

Has been discussed thoroughly in other threads, we knew this was coming many months ago.
Better is subjective. Netflix is a strong worthy competitor for sure with it's own original programming. HBO for me happens to be a little better, I like their original programming (and have many many years). I like their boxing and other sports shows like Outside the Lines, Real Sports....
I use Netflix in a different way. When there is a specific series I want to watch from them I subscribe for one month and watch it all, and maybe other things not available elsewhere. Then do not subscribe again till there is more I want. HBO has more continuing shows and things I watch.
Well, somebody has to pay for all that new programming they want to produce in order to compete with Netflix. Might as well be your competitors subs.
HBO only has one currently running that I watch(GOT). The ones I like that are out of production are available on Amazon prime.

I don't know where that started but way ....waaaaaaay back I thought HBO was part of Cable packages.
I thought it WAS...IF you have AT&T wireless...
I believe that is correct.
That's why I have it through my Internet provider, Comcast, as part of my "bundle". Save on Internet by bundling and use HBO through all the apps, HBOGO, on all my devices. AND the PQ is far better.
