Remote controls not working with Netflix

We have a new Hopper 3. Last night we lost signal in a rain storm, so I turned on Netflix to The Godfather. The movie started playing great, but I couldn't control it at all. Select button, pause, etc. did nothing. I couldn't get control back until I turned the Hopper off and then on again. I went through this whole thing twice, so it wasn't a one-off fluke.

My kids have been using Netflix and they haven't had any issues.

Is this somehow related to the lost signal from the rain? Am I just using the wrong buttons or something? Please help!

Unless they have changed it, the play/pause does not do anything and neither does rewind or fast forward in Netflix. It’s the arrow keys and select button, although, you mentioned select. We’re tou sure it was still in Sat mode, and to verify, it was the Hoppers Netflix app, right?
