I currently have a 76cm dish pointed at 121 and I am getting velocity channel, I have a dish network dish that I want to put in its place and move the 76cm to another sat. Can I use a DSS lnbf with my fta reciever to get velocity in or do I need to use a linear lnbf with the dish network dish. Just thought maybe you could help me on this Q?

Fixed your title so it didn't sound like you were hacking or something.

Does your FTA receiver have a LO setting for 11250?

Whoa, back up a bit :) Velocity on 121 is normal standard Ku Linear 12016 V 20000 L.O. 10750 The only Dish LNB that works is the 121 FSS LNB

I played with a SuperDish a bit. Tore apart some LNBFs and put the feedhorns on some of those FSS LNBs. I found that most of those FSS LNBs are so old they have all drifted way out of frequency spec. :( But you compensate for the drift and it wasn't too bad.

That title he had before had me so confused, I thought he was after something on the DISH birds that was in the clear....like the 110/119 birds. :D

I’d think it’s better to get a LNBF designed to fit the dish network dish. It’s way better than finding the focal length.

Ill add a picture tomorrow! On my 76cm dish I was getting around 63% and with my Dish network dish I am getting about 58%. I am happy making use of something they wanted to throw away! :) Hey thanks for the post on the lnb! It is raining Today so all I can say is that my numbers will go up! :) I am laughing seeing my 90cm next to the dnetwork dish! :D

I had a turbo dish on 121 with a linear ku lnb got it just fine it was real easy to get in even through the trees. Mos can you take a better pic of that lnb holder how is it placed on your dish arm?

I just bolted the lnbf bracket to one of the holes on arm, I know their is a better way! Its a cobby job but it does work! lol nothing better then to convert what they left behind to usable! :)
