HR22 is not exactly what I wanted (preferred HR24 after reading comments here) but hope it does the job and at least when I punch a button on the remote I won't have to wait 2 or 3 minutes for this replacement HR22 to show the menu change on my TV screen. Have not changed out yet (will do that Sunday), but right now it's about 9 PM, and this time of night is when when the DVR has been SLOW, SLOW, SLOW. So, am recording shows now and will watch later. For some reason, later at night, things seem to improve - meaning the remote response time is faster and, for whatever reason, it (DVR) seems to work right.
I've pretty much ruled out changing to Uverse and certainly don't want to go back to Dish. So, hopefully, this HR22 will be as good or better than the two HR21's I've had. When they worked right, I was satisfied.
If this (HR22) does not work out, I may just go BUY an HR24. Uverse is just not gonna happen unless things get really, really bad.
ONE MORE QUESTION . . . Back when I was a Dish subscriber, I had just ONE DVR but could connect 2 TV's, sitting side-by-side (I like to watch a football game on 1 and basketball game on the other, whatever) both games (channels) coming from Dish, all coming from the same DVR and not pay anything extra. Can you do that with just ONE Direct TV DVR?
