Restart receiver to receive new HD channels?

I am not getting USA HD, etc (new ones launched today). Would restarting the receiver (HR20-700) get them?

fyi, yes it did. why is that? didn't need to restart to initially receive the hd rollout.

When you reboot the receiver re-reads all the channel mapping. (That's what the "receiving satellite data" wait is all about).

Apparently, for whatever reason, your receiver must have "missed" the channel having been added, rebooting forced it to re-download the channel mapping and fixed the issue.

Simply waiting awhile would have probably fixed the problem too. The receiver continuously updates its internal mapping on a "trickle" basis.
