Welcome to another SatelliteGuys Retailer Chat Recap!

As always our recaps will focus on the items of interest to you the consumer! We do not discuss retailer sensitive items such as costs or profits.

I am expecting this one to be heavily focused on the upcoming Dish Network Team Summit event in San Antonio, Texas... but I am hoping they mention the new HD channels which are rumored to be coming on Monday.

And here we go!

Jim and Amir welcome us and they tell us its the last time they will talk with the retailer's before Team Summit.

Amir says a lot of great announcements are coming at Team Summit.

They are going to talk about the 922 as well, plus announcement on programming and marketing...

They start by talking about Satellite Internet from WildBlue.. Talking about all the things WildBlue will be offering at Team Summit. They are excited about WildBlue as the demand exceeds the supply, but they will be launching another satellite that will make that a non issue.

The are pushing the PlatinumHD package again for $10 more a month... and are ending the World Fishing Network segment.

Amir is telling Fishing stories now.

I work at NOAA Fisheries. I'm probably the only one in the country interested in that.

Because of all the channels that have been or will soon be added to the HD+Platinum package, I was worried this would happen. Did they mention a time frame? Next Feb perhaps?

Dish will be phasing out the 800-333-DISH number in its ads and the new customer service number that will be promoted will be 800-894-9131. (I don't get it... 333 DISH was an easy number to remember..)
