Roofers didn't reset my antenna

Roofer jut finished the new roof and now the antenna need to be realigned. They said they put it back in the same holes and is should be good but they can't set it up. I get the following readngs

101 80s and 90s

RCVR is a H24 200

Any ideas?

Other than calling DTV support and paying the going rate, you might try running an ad on CL. I purchased an expensive meter and to defray the cost I did some repoints after roofers did their job. I even did one for a DTV employee. (they don't get everything free)

Chalk it up to part of the cost of getting a new roof. Don't cheap out now, call them and get a Directv guy out there to properly re-aim it for you.

You'll never regret it.

I don't have the maintenance contract. So now I've gotta deal with DirecTV again unless I can get it myself. I've aligned the old round dish we used while traveling in our Motorhome hundreds of time and I was thinking that the aiming right now is really close since I'm getting really hign numbers on 101 and the tilt setting is what's messed up. Am I close? The problem is getting on the roof which is pretty flat where the antenna is.

i bent my dish when i ran into it with my lawnmower
directv said it was 49 for a tech visit, but would credit me $50 a month for 2 years for being a long time customer
and no contract

If this was an insurance claim for a new roof, they will pay for the Sat visit but it has to be in the Claim before they cut the check and you have to call it out to get it added. You can still try, if it is insurance work.

Depending on where his dish is DTV won't get off the ladder to realign it because of the OSHA rules.

IF, And thats a Questionable IF, they put the dish in the same spot, chances are it needs to be adjusted east and west .... if it was working before tyhe roof was done, then the Skew and elevation should be fine ... they wouldn't change any adjustments.

Not really ....
When you do a Slimline set up ... you do the Tilt (skew) and the Elevation while on the ground ... then place the dish on the mount and adjust the Left/Right once its up .... with fine tuning adjustments on the rest once you have signal ...
So, taking the dish off the roof, but not making any changes on the dish, should allow you to place the dish in a close location and only have to do the Left / Right to find signal (as long as your MOUNT is Plumb ...

If you notice, you can move to a surrounding city and the Elevation and Skew may not change ...

I just moved a dish at the lake a few weeks ago off of the house to out front towards the lake (on the house is being blocked by the trees now) took it down and was able to easily point it once out at the lake without making any changes on the dish other than Left / Right.

That's my point, the mount isn't going to be plumb if you remove the whole thing from the roof and then put it back on a surface that is tilted slightly different (because the shingle overlaps are in different places)

IF you can get the mast plumb like it was previously, then you are probably okay, but getting the mast the same as before is unlikely. That's assuming it was really plumb.

Any time the dish is moved, bolts loosened or changed you need to check the alignment with a meter.

If it's properly mounted, you could likely get an independent guy there for like $65 to check the alignment.

Most of the times the roofers reinstall dishes, they jack up the whole mount, and it all has to come down and be remounted.

If everything is plumb, like $65 is what I usually charge.

If I got to remount the dish probably $100.

If the whole install is jacked up maybe $125

I must say, I find those rates very reasonable. How can you pay your bills with such low prices? Truck rolls ain't cheap.

New roof yesterday. They waived the alignment fee since it wasn't covered by the protection plan. Guy had it working in 15 mins.
