Jim - is that something on your Coolsat 8000 receiver?
If so, how did you get it? (the error, not the receiver)
What were you doing? What mode were you in? etc.

Should be in the manual, or ask the company.

I'm a bit more at home here with computers What does FTA have to do with computers? Receiver updates are run through a computer via RS232 serial connection. No update without the computer. Runtime error can be caused by so many things (program bug, conflict, memory overload, connection, etc. etc. etc.) Even the receiver. Since I had a specific runtime error 8018, I thought someone might have a fix, or know how to trace. Can buy a program, but want to try myself. Thanks, Guys.

Ok, so I'm still confused Jim, is the error on your 8000 that Anole mentioned or is it on your PC? Where were you when you got it? What were you doing?
Do you get any other info like "Operation only valid when port is open" message?
