I recently purchased the above along with a home theatre...it's been about 6 years since I bought something new. Boy, some things have changed! I've been lurking on the net regarding picture calibration. I found a site, which shows how to do it. Should I try it?

Is the picture that much "better" than it is out of the box? I've made some changes to pass my eye ball test for hockey & football, but nothing else.

Easiest way is to get a test blu-ray so you can at least adjust brightness, sharpness and contrast. Color is tough, but you may can find good color settings from the owners thread at AVS. Final move is hiring a pro calibrator, but that will run ya around $400.
