Considering the display on my Nexus One uses about 1/3 of the battery during normal usage, this sounds very promising even if only half true

[Liquavista] claims to have created a color display that uses 10 percent of the power of current LCD panels, while doubling the transmittance...

Most Android phones I have seen use 33-50% battery use is the display. My G2, boss Epic, my Droid X and friends Fascinate are all like this.

Very interesting, and a development well worth following. I doubt it will ever be fast enough for video, but..........
