So Im a fairly new installer. Dont have the cash yet for a superbuddy or bird dog. Right now Im using a sat buddy 2 for directv installs. I only do digital no HD. Are they any good instructions for using this meter? I find the in the box manual to be lacking in any detail. Im having a hard time peaking the dish with this meter. Any help would be appreciated.

As long as your mast is plumb and your elevation is correctly set, there shouldn't be any problems aiming an 18" dish with the SatBuddy. Sounds to me like a possible case of hitting the 110 and having the elevation too low.
