Does anyone know since dish went from three satellite locations down to two has picture quality suffered? Also are they now maxed out on capacity with this switch?
I know they switched from mpeg 2 to mpeg 4 and dropped sd channels to help with the switch.
Any plans to launch a new satellite or ever go back to a 129 sat location? Do they broadcast all channels in full resolution?
Wondering in terms of being able to add new channels in the future or even 4k stuff?
How does the picture quality compare to Direct Tv and streaming like You Tube Tv or Direct Tv stream?

We have a hopper 3 no issues with PQ. Some channels on dish look better than on directv like MTV classic on directv looks like utter crap looks good on dish. Our dtv had very fine pixelation though signal levels were at 99%.

Dont know about when or if there going to launch a new bird.. but the 129 has been retired when it was retired I dunno. I prefer a smaller dish to the slimline any day!!!

Dtv customer service is utter sh*t!!! And that comes from personal experience. Dish has treated us like gold!!! Though dtv has a price lock to it don't include rate increases!!!

The genie dvrs are the Yugo of dvrs there slow no voice remotes like the hopper. Other than the few 4k channels dish has everything's in HD. If you go with dtv you'll more than likely get an hs-17 genie 2 a client only system so no HD box for camping unless you want to open a second acct
