SatelliteGuys.US DishNetwork Uplink Discussion - Week Ending 06/23/2007

Waiting for the resolution reports from the R5000 guys...

I'm guessing 1440 for the 1080i ones. Is ESPN still 1280x720p?

I'm not home to see what it looks like. Anyone out there that can check resolutions right now? I'd love to hear it.

I'm more interested in the bitrate for these channels. Probably below 10 mbps now.

TNTHD - 8-9 Mbps
HDNET - 8-9Mbps
HDNMV - 8-9 Mbps
ESPNHD - 10-11 Mbps
DSCHD - 11-12 Mbps
HBOHD - 9-10 Mbps
SHOHD - 11 Mbps

Spot checked averages, not long-term averages.

Thanks Digi, looks like they're lower than before. I haven't seen the channels yet but I bet they look worst than before.

Here's the left over old HD channels that are still there but aren't mapped.

ESPNHD was 1280x720 after move is 1440x1080i per TSReader.

I know there were rumors of ESPN changing their format to 1080i. Is this change ESPN's or simply E* recoding the signal?

I am assuming the latter since we haven't heard much about it.

I can't say much... but I can say this...

Any loss of PQ is temporary. Dish is working to provide the best PQ anywhere.

Thats all I can say about that. :D
