I just noticed when tuning in SCETV on 63W that on CH.1 is a message saying "satellite services will cease july 31,2011" ...
this is unfortunate! I enjoy the programming there on the 5 or 6 ch. slots

Not good news, hoping it doesn't apply to all signals of SECTV but suspect it does:(
 
Yes, I posted that a couple of days ago, it is not good news. Money is tight for everybody uplinking and if they find a cheaper way to go, then it seems like some will.
 
Telstar 14 is due to be replaced by the end of the 2011 year and I am sure they were looking at a increase in uplinking fees for the replacement bird. Telstar 14 has had its share of in orbit problems also so maybe a combination of the two. Streaming those programs on the internet probably looks a whole lot better and cheaper. SCETV has had a transponder on that bird for a long time and I have seen their test pattern on AMC 21 a quite a bit more than in the past. Guess time will tell.
