Screen "smudges"?

I have a JVC HD-56G787 56" DLP. There are "blotches" or "smudges" on the screen that seem to be getting more plentiful. They are on the screen itself and not the result of bad reception. I've cleaned it numerous times with a non-ammonia based window cleaner and it doesn't seem to get any better. Any ideas on what's going on here?

maybe they are under the screen;and represent some damage happening under there?

This was a common problem with my TV and samsungs lack of QC. an assembler with dirty hands touched the back of the screen in many cases. But more seem to be appearing for the OP????? Now that is strange!

Yes, they were never there when I bought but have appeared over time. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the projection apparatus, like dust on the mirror or something of that nature.

Absolutely.

Give the display (lense, color wheel, mirror) a good cleaning.
