Well, I think it's dead, the fan is making a bunch of noise and the light won't come on. Is there anything I can do, as it's got about 30 hours of shows I want.
 
If you can find an identical unit, swap the hard drives. You will need to deactive the broken unit and activate the replacement one. There is no guarantee that the hard drive is still good.
 
I have another active one. The broken unit is already deactivated, I was just going to watch what was there. Is there any other way to tell what is wrong short of sending it off for repair?
