Does the SD DVR40 have an IEEE port on it that I can use to dump a recorded program to a DVD player? If not,can I just attach the analog AV outputs to a DVD player? Is there any kind of copy protection built in that would prevent me from burning a DVD? I Would like the option of saving certain shows permanantly, mostly stuff like like concerts. Not looking to crack any copywrites etc. How many sets of AV outputs does the DVR40 have?

Not to a DVD player certainly you can with a DVD recorder. But I knew what you meant. Use the "Save to VCR" function for this. It is listed in the same menu where you play the program. I used to transfer from TiVo to my MiniDV then to DVD.

There are much better ways to transfer video, especially digitally ... I can help.
